Northcliffe - Senior
A friendly social badminton club that also has a competetive section which completes in the local badminton league. The club practices on a Thurs evening 8.00 - 10.00.
High Flyers - Junior
High Flyers junior badminnton is a completitive but friendly junior club. Organised and run by competant level 2 coaches, children are taught the core elements of doubles and singles badminton and then encouraged to put these into practice with weekly competions. Sessions run throughout term time every Friday 6.30 - 8.30 pm.
Martial Arts
Wado Ryu - Junior and Senior
The club - which has been running for 25 years - is affiliated to the United Martial Arts and has been running since it opened under the instruction of Sensei Brian Marshall 5th Dan, who trained under Japanese instructor Sensei S.Kato, also Sensei Frank Hayes. Marshall is assisted by Sensei Ian Daniels and Sensei Darrel Haigh, both of whom have attained 2nd Dan and have been with the club for eight and 25 years respectively,All instructors hold enhanced C.R.B. clearance and first aid certificates, plus they have child protection training.Marshall is a qualified coach holding level 2, the club recently gaining accreditation.
Mr Haigh said: "Wado-Ryu karate is open to anyone and adapts to your needs and physical abilities. The way it is taught can focus your mind and energy but most of all gives you confidence as well as self awareness and you learn self defence, but most of all you learn respect, not only for others but for yourself".
Sessions are on a Friday evening from 6.30 - 9.30 pm.
Shotokan Junior and Senior
Sessions are on a Thurs evening from 7.00 - 9.00 pm.
Athletics
Bridlington Road Runners
Bridlington Road Runners was formed shortly after the first Bridlington Half Marathon in 1983.
We are a friendly club and cater for runners of all abilities. Everyone is welcome - it does not matter if you are young or old, male or female, fast or slow.
We do not leave anyone behind - and we love to chat as we run.
Club nights, meet at the Sports Centre Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm for 6.10pm start.
